COUNSELING ELECTIVE COURSES
(These are 2 Credit hour Courses)
Phase I
Basic Christian
Counseling/Testing/ Measurement: (Psy-301)
This course will provide an
overview of the Big Eight types of secular counseling/therapy with
methods. You will learn the difference between Christian and secular
counseling. You will also be introduced to the primary test used by the
N.C.C.A.
Temperament Theory:
(Psy-302)
This course will provide in-depth
background of the theory of temperament, with the scientific and Biblical
basis for this theory. It will introduce a fifth temperament and the
behavioral patterns of each temperament.
Temperament Therapy:
(Psy-303)
You will learn how to apply the
theory of temperament in a clinical setting. A T.A.P. start-up packet is
included.
Christian Psychology &
Counseling: (Psy-304)
General information regarding basic
theories concerning historical systems of psychology, counseling, biblical
theories of counseling and the utilization of N.C.C.A.'s counseling model
will be presented.
Phase II
Mastering Christian Counseling
Utilizing Temperament: (Psy-305)
The student will be provided with
specific information regarding stress, anger and guilt with emphasis on the
need to develop family relationships.
Codependency: (Psy-306)
In this course you will learn
specialized training regarding codependency which incorporates the
counseling model taught by the N.C.C.A.
Temperament Case Studies:
(Psy-307)
Learn how to analyze the case
studies you will write for each client. |
